
Madrid, 10th March 2010.- The Iberoamerican Educational
and Cultural Televisions Association, the institution
administrator of the Iberomerican Educational and Cultural
Television Program (TEIb), a Cooperation Program that
was born in Iberoamerican Summits of Heads of State and
government , signed the last 9th march a collaboration
agreement with Cervantes Institute for the promotion
of the development of the educational and cultural offer
related with Spanish language and culture among the television,
radio and internet.
The agreement was signed in
the Cervantes Institute Center by its director, Carmen
Caffarel, and by the ATEI-TEIb
Secretary General, Alberto García Ferrer. The
President of ATEI Directive Council and TV UNAM General
Director , Ernesto Velázquez Briseño, subscribed
the agreement as honor witness.
The collaboration between Cervantes
Institute and ATEI – across
TEIb Program and NCI Iberoamerican Cultural News – covers
from the exchange of educative and cultural contents
until the production of activities that contribute to
promote the Spanish language and culture in the new technological
scenes.
Both institutions have coincided
in the opportunity to ‘create synergies that promotes the iberoamerican
culture’, because of the audience in the region – 450
millions of Spanish speakers -. In this strategic ties,
Cervantes Institute and ATEI will connect their multimedia
platform to exchange audiovisual materials through links
at audiencie disposal.
They sent messages of support
to Chile after the earthquake of the last 27 february
and, specially, to Valparaíso
City, where The ‘V Language Congress’ was
to be held.
Finally, The Director of Cervantes Institute, connected
to ATEI since its creation, wanted to demand ‘the
great educational and cultural function that the television
plays in Iberomerica’/
MG PrensATEI.
